Current Work
I work mainly as a freelance Sound Engineer and System Technician in the Corporate, Live Music and Theatre sectors.
I also undertake work as a Sound Designer, Project Manager, Stage Manager and Event Technician (working with Lighting, Rigging & Video as required)
I am trained on Yamaha, Soundcraft, Digico and Digidesign digital mixing consoles and as a d&b Audiotechnik line array system technician.
As part of my sound design work I also do pre-production recording and editing using Logic Pro and Pro tools as well as Q Lab playback systems

About Me
As well as being passionate about my work I am also a very enthusiastic Mountaineer, Hill Walker and Climber. I make regular trips to the Scottish Highlands and the Lake District at all times of the year work permitting.
I am also very interested in food and enjoy cooking as well as dining out and I enjoy live music and theatre.

2007 – 2010 Licensee of the Snooty Fox Tavern, Kirkby Lonsdale
As well as looking after many aspects of the business I also worked as Bar Manager and part time Chef
2001-2005 Head of Sound – West Yorkshire Playhouse
Responsible for all sound requirements for 2 theatres and a small recording studio, in-house productions, touring and conferences
Sound Designs include, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Wind in the Willows”, “Sunbeam Terrace”, “Carnival Messiah”, “Vodou Nation”, “Dutiful Daughter”, “And All the Children Cried” and “Stepping Out”
Also responsible for maintenance of all Audio and Communication equipment.
1999-2001 Hire Manager – TMC Ltd, Bradford
Responsible for the day to day running of a busy hire department including managing bookings, servicing equipment and finding new business as well as working as a Sound Engineer on many Corporate and Conference productions, Concerts and Theatre Productions.

Project Management for the installation of Sound, Lighting and Video Equipment into all areas of the leisure industry. Including production of H&S method statements, technical drawings & schedules

Event Management for many events both large & small providing technical services and equipment resources.
Many other freelance jobs also undertaken, including Sound, Lighting & Set Building.
1986 –1996 Technical Director – Theatre Royal & Opera House, Wakefield
Responsible for all technical requirements for shows staged at the theatre and production manager for all in-house productions
Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of Grade II listed theatre.
Creating and implementing training programs in conjunction with Bretton Hall College.
